Instant Pot (6-quart or larger)
Wooden Spoon or Spatula
Measuring cups and spoons
Knife and cutting board (if adding vegetables)
- 1 lb 450g ground beef (fresh or frozen)
- 1 cup 240ml beef broth or water
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: 1 small onion chopped; 1 bell pepper, chopped
Prepare the Instant Pot:
Place the ground beef in the Instant Pot. If using frozen beef, ensure any packaging is removed.
Add 1 cup of beef broth or water to the pot.
Pressure Cook:
Close the lid and set the valve to the sealing position.
Select the “Pressure Cook” or “Manual” setting and set the timer for 25 minutes.
Once cooking is complete, allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes, then perform a quick release for any remaining pressure.
Sauté and Season:
Open the lid and use a wooden spoon to break up the beef into crumbles.
If desired, select the “Sauté” function and add chopped onions and bell peppers. Cook until vegetables are tender.
Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to taste.
