Equipment

  • Wooden Spoon or Spatula
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Knife and cutting board (if adding vegetables) 

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb 450g ground beef (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 cup 240ml beef broth or water
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1 small onion chopped; 1 bell pepper, chopped

Instructions
 

Prepare the Instant Pot:

  • Place the ground beef in the Instant Pot. If using frozen beef, ensure any packaging is removed.
  • Add 1 cup of beef broth or water to the pot. 

Pressure Cook:

  • Close the lid and set the valve to the sealing position.
  • Select the “Pressure Cook” or “Manual” setting and set the timer for 25 minutes.
  • Once cooking is complete, allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes, then perform a quick release for any remaining pressure.  

Sauté and Season:

  • Open the lid and use a wooden spoon to break up the beef into crumbles.
  • If desired, select the “Sauté” function and add chopped onions and bell peppers. Cook until vegetables are tender.
  • Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to taste.

Serve:

  • Use the cooked ground beef as a base for tacos, pasta sauces, casseroles, or meal prep bowls.
