Ingredients
  

  • 2 –3 lbs beef back ribs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper optional
  • ½ cup BBQ sauce plus extra for serving

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 275°F (135°C) or heat your smoker to low heat (225–250°F).
  • Prepare the spice rub: In a bowl, mix brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and cayenne.
  • Remove membrane from the back of the ribs (optional but recommended for tenderness).
  • Coat the ribs with olive oil, then generously rub the spice mixture on both sides.
  • Wrap the ribs tightly in foil and place on a baking sheet (or directly in the smoker if smoking).
  • Cook low and slow for 2.5 to 3 hours until tender.
  • Unwrap and glaze with BBQ sauce. Broil for 5–7 minutes or grill for a few minutes until caramelized.
  • Rest and serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
